KLANG: Klang MCA chief and former Pandamaran assemblyman Datuk Teh Kim Poo has exposed an alleged plot to kill him.

Teh said that a tape, which carried a recorded message between two people who spoke about hiring an assassin to murder him, was dropped into his mailbox several days ago. “It was a recording of someone who seemed to be financing a plot to finish me off, but I did not take it seriously then.

“I only believed that it could be true when a reliable source told me to be cautious and urged me to lodge a police report,” he said.

Teh, who is on a business trip overseas, said he would lodge a police report after returning next week.

Asked what could be the motive, Teh, who was defeated in the contest for the seat at the recent general election, said he had no enemies except political rivals.

He said he recognised the voice of one of the persons in the tape.

“He is a well-known figure in Klang whom I know and they were talking about a RM60,000 initial payment to hire a killer.

“This person hates me so much that killing me seems to be the only solution,” he said.

Teh added that he had first heard of a plot to kill him during the Chinese New Year.
